This time, we see the makers of the classic boat shoe partnering with Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders to create this unique 3 Eye Tri-Tone Denim Boat Shoe. The shoe follows Sperry’s classic deck profile, but with a denim patchwork construction, reversed tongue, and luxurious Oxford cotton lining. Produced in very limited numbers, the Denim Tri Tone Boat Shoe retails for €160 EUR (approximately $ 205 USD) at the Tres Bien web store here.

An exclusive peek, they tell us “developed around the ’US Naval Yard’ AW12 concept, the shoes and boots are drawn from original period USN issue footwear.” Two key styles feature, the first, above is the US Navy Officers Heavy Brogue and comes in two amazing colourways, burgundy/black alongside black/navy with your choice of a crepe or double Goodyear welted leather sole. Also on offer, the Seabee Boot “a hybrid of the classic US military M-41 boot and the USN Seabee’s Engineer boot” available with either a lightweight microsole or Goodyear welted leather sole. From Japanese designer Hiroshi Tsubouchi comes these aptly named ‘Shark Sole’ derby shoes. Not only do the gleaming white soles look like the precarious teeth (or fins) of a shark, the deep blue leather uppers are reminiscent of the briny depths. Hiroshi Tsubouchi has been working with shoes since 1977 and is today known as one of Japans finest shoemakers. His signature is the combination of classic designs and shapes with more innovative details, colors and materials. These are no exception, with premium leather uppers, white laces and Tri-colored ripple sole. Made in Japan, they’re available at Tres Bien Shop.

Cole Haan x Nike x Tom Sachs ‘Mission Control’ Shoes

Before everyone asks; no these Nike/Cole Haan/Tom Sachs beauties will not be for sale. Made specially for the Tom Sachs ‘Space Program: Mars’ exhibition currently going on at the Armory in NYC, they are part of the official uniform for the “crew” working the “mission”. Overall the shoe is somewhat reminiscent of golfing footwear, with a waffled sole, perforated leather upper, & subtle Nike swoosh. Still, if any of these hit the market they’re sure to start a bidding war among collectors.
